Reverend Al Paris

Reverend Alton (Al) Paris

The Reverend Al Paris is a retired Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church.

He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas (BA Psycholoy 1977).

Ordained in 1981, he has served Methodist Congregations in Plano Texas (CME), Whitewright Texas (CME), Whiterock Texas (CME), Honey Grove Texas (AME), The Colony Texas (AME), Denison Texas (AME), and Kaufman Texas (AME).

Pastor Paris was the founding pastor of the Cornerstone African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in the Colony Texas. The late Presiding Elder Alto L. (AL) Brown was the presiding elder and the late Right Reverend Robert Lee Pruitt the presiding bishop.

Pastor Paris retired from the Macedonia AME Church after serving that congregation for twelve (12) years.

During his pastoral ministry, Reverend Paris was a bi-vocational minister. He served his country in the United States Air Force(USAF) from 1952 to 1972 as a Radar and Avionics Technician. After retiring from the USAF, he was employed by Texas Instruments for twentyseven years as an Engineering Technician, Technicial Writer, Quality Assurance, Reliability and Maintainability Engineer. Retiring from TI in 197, Reverend Paris then devoted full time to the gospel of Jesus, the Christ.

Reverend Paris responded to the call of God into the preaching ministry of the Lord Jesus, the Christ in 1981 at Hill Chapel CME Church of Plano Texas and liscensed to preach under the administration of the Reverend E.E. Jagours. He was subsequently ordained Deacon and Elder by the late Bishop C. D. Coleman, then presiding Bishop of the Eighth Episcopal District (Texas) of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church.

Having preached for more than thirty years and served twenty one years as a pastor, he is now available for any ministerial duties that require the services of a fully ordained minister such as Weddings, Funerals, Preaching and serving in a temporary role as pastor.

Reverend Al Paris is married to Sara Fields Paris and they are the parents of two grown children, Ms. Courtenay Ruth Paris and Mr. JohnPaul A. Paris. He also has two sons from his previous marriage, Michael C Paris and Rodney M Paris.
